Quick Answer
Restart a stuck VPS or dedicated server, or wipe it and start over with a fresh operating system.
You do not need to open a ticket for a reboot. You can do it yourself from the client area in under a minute.
Reboot a server
- Log in to your Nakroteck client area.
- Open Services and click the VPS or dedicated server.
- Click the Power tab.
- Click Reboot. The server comes back online in about 30 seconds.
Force power off
If the normal reboot does not work because the server is frozen, use Force Off, wait 10 seconds, then Power On. This is the equivalent of unplugging the machine, so save any work first if you can.
Reinstall the operating system
- On the same service page, open the Reinstall tab.
- Pick the OS template you want (Ubuntu 22.04, AlmaLinux 9, Debian 12, and so on).
- Set a new root password.
- Click Reinstall and confirm.
Reinstalling wipes everything on the server. Take a backup first if there is anything you want to keep. The whole job finishes in about 10 minutes.
