Domains Renewals Billing

Renewing a domain before it expires

Quick Answer

Paying early protects the domain without removing its remaining registered time. Confirm the new registry expiry after payment and processing.

Renewing before expiry protects your website, email, and brand. A successful renewal normally adds the purchased term to the existing registry expiry date, so paying early does not remove the time already remaining.

Billing due date and registry expiry

The invoice due date is the payment deadline used by Nakroteck. The registry expiry date is the date the domain registration ends. These dates may differ because renewal invoices can be issued before the registry deadline.

Renew from the client area

  1. Go to Client Area > Domains.
  2. Open the domain and select Renew.
  3. Choose an available renewal term and review the price.
  4. Pay the generated invoice.
  5. Return to the domain page and confirm the updated expiry after processing.

Payment does not always mean instant completion

Automated domains normally update after payment and registrar confirmation. Ghana domains and other manually handled extensions can require a staff or registry step. Payment confirms the renewal request, but the domain is complete only when the updated registry expiry is verified.

Auto-renew and saved payment methods

Auto-renew helps Nakroteck generate and process renewal billing, but it does not guarantee renewal if payment fails, the saved method is unavailable, eligibility information is missing, or the registry requires manual handling. Keep your contact and payment information current and review renewal notices.

If the domain is expired

Open a support ticket before paying if the domain is already in a grace, redemption, or restoration state. Additional registry fees or manual confirmation may apply.

Read the Ghana domain comparison, the safe nameserver guide, or the manual Ghana registration guide when renewing a Ghana extension.
